The Marble Caves in Chile was one of the strangest locations that I have ever visited and I haven't been able to get it out of my mind ever since we left. I feel like this place captures so many things that I love about travel and photography – how something as simple as a rock can also be so inspirational and unique, not afraid to stand out. 💛 A reminder that the parts of us that are a bit weird, corky and different also set us apart in a beautiful way. "This is not Germany, you can't just come here and drive". That's what the police officer said today when I asked for an official residential permit, which I need to get the temporary driver license. The temporary driver license here is made for tourists and it is only valid for a couple of weeks. But for that you need a residential permit, which you can only get if you stay longer than 3 months. Sounds paradox? Yep, it is and diplomatic things can get very frustrating here. I'm staying in Chongqing since Friday and haven't really been out into nature, because I'm still trying to get the license and the car. With everyday I'm staying here, I lose a day to travel and in the end I'll have to skip spots. So although I speak the language here, China is one of the hardest countries to travel for me.
